Luke 5:37   Also, no one ever pours new wine into old wineskins. The new wine would break them. The wine would spill out, and the wineskins would be ruined.

Luke 5:38   You always put new wine into new wineskins.

John 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

It was common at the time of Jesus for people to store wine in skins, usually in the hide of a goat. Fresh skins were used to put new wine in because it had elasticity that would accommodate the fermentation process of the new wine.

As the gases formed, it created  many bubbles, and the skins would expand; once fully processed or fermented the wine had reached its full potential.

It’s the same with us, we cannot contain the new hunger, the new thirst, the maturity and revelation in the old wineskins of comfort and familiarity. Doing things the way we’ve always done it.

We want growth, we want things to change, we want the things of the spirit in our lives, we hunger and thirst for more of God to use us, more fruit, more blessings and yet we stay in the status quo…

SO are we ready to totally submit to Gods’ fermentation?

Ready to pursue a step of faith and abandon the familiar and the comfortable, to step into new territories for Christ?

We cannot Mix the old ways with the new ways if the old ways are not working.

Job 32:19

(ESV)  Behold, my belly is like wine that has no vent; like new wineskins ready to burst.

(GNB)  If I don’t get a chance to speak, I will burst like a wineskin full of new wine.

(ISV)  My insides feel like unvented wine, like it’s about to burst like a new wineskin.

(KJV)  Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Do you ever Feel like this?

Then it’s time to move up to a new level and let go of the old.

We can rest assured God will not give us anything that we cannot handle .. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

Why not take the challenge to
